    Tomato Multi-Color 3D Printer

The Tomato 3D printer has just been launched on Kickstarter by California’s NixTek, in hopes of raising $100K by July 10. The Tomato offers the user the ability to 3D print in up to four colors, with a hot-end extruder that has its own mixing chamber. The 3D printer also offers ultra-high printing resolution and eliminates mess with its thoroughly and evenly heated aluminum print bed, topped with ceramic glass. Below is a look at the Tomato next to some of its test prints. What do you guys think? Anyone going to back the Tomato on Kickstarter?

Another attractive promise attached to the Tomato is that of no muss. Ceramic glass on an evenly heated print bed, made of aluminum, means no more rigging up adhesives or dealing with silicone films.
    Really ?
Prove that can they ? Lots of people print on glass - but can't recall any of them not needing something else as well for larger or more complex prints.

I like the idea of the mixed filament in one nozzle, but how do they account for the temperature variations needed to get the best prints from different colour filament.

still it's a kickstarter - so we've got at least 18 months before anything happens :-)
