    5th Graders Creating Their Own Custom 3D Printed Cities

    STEM education is bringing 3D printing into classrooms around the world, and one Washington, DC-based school has recently proved the technology's educational value. Georgetown Day School (GDS) has two MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation 3D printers and the school's director of technology and 21st century learning, Tim Lyons, told 3DPrint.com about one of the latest projects. A class of 5th graders recently undertook a project while studying urban planning and design, in which they designed buildings in Tinkercad.
