Tech giant Apple has acquired Israel-based startup LinX Imaging, which offers multi-camera arrays for mobile technology. While Apple won't comment on the acquisition and much of LinX's previous online presence has been taken down, details have been pieced together and we're able to make some predictions about just what this business deal might mean for the 3D imaging space. With the enhanced imaging capabilities of multi-lens cameras, LinX has superior depth mapping that offers the potential for point-by-point 3D mapping to create digital images and 3D prints of, for example, scans of a room. Applications can also extend to augmented reality, facial recognition, and more. Read the full article for more information: http://3dprint.com/59540/apple-acquires-linx/
