As digital design and 3D printing become more prominent within the maker community, it’s not without some attention being paid by industry giants who are working to take their market share as well, as they see the attraction for users to be able to create, customize, and take control of manufacturing their own items, which in this case would be 3D printed toys. Autodesk and Mattel have teamed up to bring a series of apps to the toy market which allow full immersion for kids in making their own toys, from the concept stage all the way to producing or having a 3D printed model made.
