So I've taken the day off to await my new machine :-)

I would have posted this in the competition thread. But it's not there today.
Sees odd as many people still don't have their prizes. So for the unintiated the background to this thread in a nutshell is this: Big 3dprint.com comp from july last 2014. I won a klic-n-print printer. Had to go tell them myself and arrange prize delivery myself (might have inadvertently upset eddie). And it's due to arrive today, now read on....

Well it's not here yet - and the spikey stinger strips I nicked from the police and rigged up to a camera and recognition software to trap any passing fed-ex vehicles - haven't caught anyone yet. :-(

I've also warned the dog to be on the lookout for anyone obviously from the north (flat cap, whippet, string vest, large hammer) who's hanging around outside the gate looking shifty.
Although being savaged by a springer spaniel mainly involves having tennis balls thrown at you - so I've also tasked one of those invisible pink demons from doom, to keep an eye out as well :-)

Come on mister fed-ex man - stop delivering crap to other people and BRING ME MY PRINTER !

Even the invisible pink demon is getting bored.

Mind you mjiolnir hasn't been on since this morning so he could still be lurking outside somewhere !

Excuse me while I vent my opinion of fedex: m**********ng, s*****g illiterate morinic bastards.

    The tracking now says:
1:30 pm Delivery exception BURNTWOOD GB
Customer not available or business closed

    Well thats complete bollocks.
Three people and two dogs were in and nobody attempted delivery.

What the morons did was go next door - which has a house name and NOT a number. And then decide not to look at the next house to see if it had a number.

    AAAAARRRGGHHGHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!

    f********NG bastard morons !

Right, have to calm down and see if they can send someone tomorrow with an IQ bigger than their testical count.

had them amend the first line of the address to state Not Valley View (next door). I've had to do this to both my amazxon and ebay addresses as well.

You'd think I'd know where I lived and if I put 88 on an address that would be where I live. If I lived at valley view - which does not have a number I'd put valley view.

    Let's see what happens tomorrow.

    ***

retrieved the card from next doors letter box (toothbrush and ducttape)
Depot is apparently only 30 mins away - so bugger tomorrow I;'m going now :-)

    More later

Well, got the machine. And first impressions - really really nice. Well built, heavy as a sonofabeech.

First mod - added power wires for when I fit the print area cooling fan.
Second mod - glued the rubber feet on as they kept falling off.

However - it only just fits on the fridge, noticeably larger case than the flashforge lol
Having the control panel at the top probably accounts for the extra height.

Going to have to move the dehydrator before I can fit filament.

    First impressions.
Some noticeable differences to the flashforge creator (metal casing aside). Only three levelling knobs. Looks like a 4mm glass plate - unless you get black aluminium. Doesn't feel like metal though.
The brass print nozzles are shorter and much wider.
The whole thing just looks and feels like a quality bit of kit.

It even came with 2 500gm rolls of pla. White and black.
No sd card - but I've got one and rarely use it, so that's not any kind of issue.

The kapton tape is sightly damaged, which is a shame as I've never really printed on kapton.
Came with a couple of odd late covers. One thin plastic one and one paper one.

Just about had enough for today. So pics and more observations tomorrow :-)
Plus I haven't actually powered it up yet.

Going to have to wait till tomorrow evening now.

But it's here ! And that's the important thing :-)))))
