Festo, a company built on making innovations for customers involved in manufacturing and factory processes worldwide, is getting ready to unveil some items of great interest at the Hannover Fair in Germany next month. Their new innovations include a colony of 3D printed ants, BionicANTS, that can communicate and take on tasks as a team, sporting 3D printed polymer bodies decorated with gilt electrical components, and more. They will also be debuting the eMotionButterflies, which are lightweight small units that can fly freely, communicating, and not bumping into each other due to a complex network of infrared cameras, GPS, and a computer network.
