Im Buying My First 3D Printer (Need Advice)

So, At Work we have a MakerBot Replicator, but i am looking for something more cheap, so far this are the two 3D printers i have my eye on:
-Solidoodle 4
-XYZprinting Da Vinci 2.0 Duo

I was told that the Solidoodle 4 has terrible support, and it needs way lot of fixing and fine tunning before you can use it correctly, it has a heated build platform, but it only uses ABS

The XYZ Dav Vinci 2.0 Due seems good, but it doesnt lokk like it has a heated Build platform, i was wondering perphaps if i could install one? (or it may have)

I dont exactly get the resolution thingy, so some help would be appreciated and i also was looking foward to buy a better extruder for whichever 3D printer i choose to build
I also have no problem opening one to change the extruder.

Just to confirm. The printing resolution of the da Vinci 2.0 Duo

Layer Resolution Fine: 100 Micron
Layer Resolution Standard: 200 Micron
Layer Resolution Speed: 300 Micron
Layer Resolution Ultra Fast: 400 Micron

100 microns = 0.1mm
50 microns = 0.05mm
25 microns = 0.025mm
10 micron = 0.01mm

The Build Volume is: 20 (L) x 19 (W) x 20 (H) cm.

No it doesn't have a heated print bed and you would be able to yes but it would void the warranty.
I swear I was reading something about it somewhere the other day someone that had changed the pb and nozzle in the 1.0 anyway.
XYZprinting don't even like people using filament that isn't theirs.
I'm not sure how they'd feel about you using a different pb but it doesn't mean you wont be able to.
Just that there's no warranty if you do.

Err.... who told you it can only print in ABS? That person deserve to be spank hard..... Solidoodle can print PLA.

Im still concerned for the lack of support and most of the people that bought it say its not very good

Doesn't matter, if you think any printer would work fine forever then you have fallen into the hype of 3D printing. That is unless you spent 30 000+$ for a machine like Statasys or professional grade 3D printers.

I would just not go anywhere near the 2 printers you mentionned. Cheap isn't always a nice option.

Any recomendations? im mostly gonna use it to make eprototypes, i work with solidworks and autodesk inventor, but i would like to try with a more basic 3D printer

go with a flashforge creator or creator pro - basically a makerbot replicator dual at a more sensible price :-)
The pro has thicker bed, heavier duty rods and screw and is fully enclosed.

Both are great machines.

Plus there are a lot out there - they're easy to modify and fix and they are great workhorses. Not much ongoing maintenance.
And they can knock out decent quality prints.

The problem is the price. Flashforge Pro is at 1399$ thats x2.3 more than im preffering to spend, Any Opinions about this one(http://tinyurl.com/o53aa4u)?

Umm - yes that's a flashforge creator :-)

They need a little tweaking but great machines, mine's happily chuckling away to itself as I type.

have yet to see or hear of any negatives and all reviews are postive.
The simple metal is a great bit of kit - but only 150x150x150 print volume. Which is'nt that bad. But the flashforge runs to 220x150x150
so basically 6x6x6 versus 9x6x6 in inches.
And that extra 3 inches length does make a difference (as the actress said to the bishop)
