Make Your Own Candles With Crayons Thanks to 3D Printed Molds

Produce your own candles with 3D printed candle molds and ordinary crayons. Instructables contributor Lily Jackson, or “MITInventorbot,” shared .stl files for 3D printing the molds along with instructions for melting crayons to produce small, colorful candles. You can definitely try this at home and experiment with our alternative approaches to this fun, basic project. given that crayons are designed with colour dyes that aren't intended to be burnt - is this really a good idea ?

I wouldn't be surprised if most crayon manufacturers used the same dye as candle manufacturers do. As far as the wax portion goes, candles, and crayons are typically just high paraffin blends.

Could be. After all they have to be certified as food - kids will eat them.
And one thing we know about foodsafe certification is that it has to be toxin free when burnt.

Bet the buggers smoke like hell though :-)
