The 3D Printable Virtual Reality Headset
Designer Rene Meeh was looking for a virtual reality (VR) headset to use with his new OnePlus One smartphone, but couldn't find one on the market -- so he decided to make his own. He had very specific parameters in mind for qualities for the VR headset, including the ability to adjust the fit and lenses, as well as o use the phone's camera to switch between VR and the real environment. He used his CTC printer, a Chinese clone of the MakerBot Replicator 3D printer, to create his headset, which he'd designed using Rhinoceros 3D. Meeh may offer kits for his headsets so others can 3D print and assemble their own. Check out more about these headsets and some uses in the full article: http://3dprint.com/45591/3d-printed-vr-headset/
