Japanese researchers at the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics are saying they believe all-plastic, flexible electronics-capable computers could be less than a decade from reality, and these LE-OFET devices are already at work in a number of applications. The researchers say that while there are a number of stumbling blocks in their way, collaborative efforts by organic chemists and device physicists will unlock a method of making electronic goods - and using only relatively inexpensive plastic materials to make it happen.
