New to Kisslicer, I have a question

I have printed a few things with slic3r and am trying k-slicer. So far, I like it. More precise than slic3r. I'm printing the first large item using k-slicer as I type. Here's what I'm printing http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:234706 I'm printing it face-down. I don't print with a raft or anything because I'm printing on glass and having no issues with adhesion. But it's printing this odd border around the part, inside the letters, and in the gap that runs across the middle. It's on the fourth or fifth layer (pic was taken during second layer) and it's still printing that border. Can you tell me how I can adjust/defeat that border? What's it for?
