How 3D Printing is Helping us Learn about the T-Rex's Intelligence

German researchers want to know more about dinosaur intelligence and they are studying a 66.4 million year old T-rex skull found in Montana in 2013 for clues. The skull was scanned in a XXL tomograph, and missing jaw parts were also 3D printed so the skull could be rounded off, revealing a more accurate picture of the real original fossil. We talk a lot about 3D printing being the wave of the future, but it's also doing much to contribute to our understanding of the far distant past: we're talking tens of millions of years ago!
