Chinese Doctors Begin Using 3D Printed Braces to Treat Scoliosis

3D Systems introduced their Bespoke back braces last June, and the 3D printed customized devices seemed a great alternative to typical clunky and oversized braces used to help correct spinal abnormalities caused by scoliosis. Now, the Chinese are looking in a similar direction to treat mild to moderate scoliosis. Dr. Hans-Rudolf Weiss, MD and Orthopedic Surgeon in Gensingen, Germany has been working on with Chinese researchers at the National Rehabilitation Aids Research Center in Beijing to create the lightweight braces.
