DAQRI Develops Hologram-Powered 3D Printer

Startup DAQRI has begun experimentation with a chip that allows forms to be created in a single pass by the projection of a light field into a specialized light-activated monomer. Currently, the type of object that can be created is limited to things that are relatively flat, such as paper clips, however, DAQRI hopes that with time they will be able to move to using the process to creating more substantial objects.
