Remote Control!?

Well it has been confirmed.

The latest version of the XYZ Davinci firmware checks for, and reports reset cartridges to XYZ HQ. They then remotely disable your printer.

I have yet to reset a cartridge, but am planning to do so. Luckily I firewalled mine a while back and it wont force updates on me now.

If you're looking for a cheap and easy to use printer, the XYZ is fine. But if you're looking to expand beyond a printer with permanent training wheels, look elsewhere.
