Should I buy a used 3D printer?

I've wanted a 3D printer for a while now but I've been waiting for the prices to come down....significantly. Although it's getting cheaper, it's still relatively expensive and above my budget for a hobby item. This week, I have a chance to buy a used 3D printer, an older Type A Machines Series 1 printer from 2013, with extra unused parts and several rolls of filament for $600. Do you guys think it's a good deal? There's a newer 2014 version that's coming out but it's nearly $2300.
