BIG printer recommendations (ie 1 metre plus printing)

Hi all,
I'm new to this field.
I currently use injection molding for designs but i'd like to move into the printing world in order to provide more options without costly molds for each change in design.

I've been looking at the cheetah system, which is ideally sized at 2x1x1 metre print capability. I have concerns that the resolution is lower than i had wanted though.
I also looked at the 3DP workbench but that is less than half the size and twice the price.

So, what other options are out there for me?
Ideally, i would like to keep costs under $15,000 and i really like the concept of being able to use granules rather than filament.

If someone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

For much less than that Printrbot makes the Big-E which is a kit solution to make whatever volume you want. It does need some involvment from you though as it is a kit. Printrbot offers good support though and their hotends are extremely good.

granules are currently not an option for direct printing.
You can buy your own filament extruder.

size wise the 3dp unlimited is your best option. Plus they also do leasing, so you can even try before you buy :-)

Basically it looks like the cheetah is your best option. The only one that deals direct with granules.
And as far as resolution goes, that's why you have sand paper and paint :-)

The cheetah will print with smaller nozzles and higher resolution - but how many days do you want to wait for a print ?

I think that the FFF printers arent suitable for my needs at this stage and comments like "And as far as resolution goes, that's why you have sand paper and paint" are completely pointless.
I'm not looking for a machine to "make do", i am looking for a machine to make perfect.

A stereolithography 3d printer may be a better option at this point.

Hum. You might want to check what a cubic meter of resin costs before being so affirmative.
1/ there are no sla machines doing a cubic meter of print volume that I know of.
2/ The risk of failing a print becomes the risk to lose a cubic meter of resin : 80€*1000 = 80000€...

I would think a lot of people would want one of these....Unfortunately, this combination just does not work right now...1meter, $15,000, Perfect. Your lucky if you get Perfect in a little printer for that price. The ProX 950 from 3d Systems is probably the closest to what your looking, it is an SLA with a build envelope of 59"X30"X20" but you better add a few more 0's onto the price tag...http://www.3dsystems.com/sites/www.3...4-usen-web.pdf

Big printer recommendations (i.e. 1m cube) - SLA 3D printers print resin outputs which are photosensitive. You cannot use this printed outputs in broad daylight as it reacts with ultraviolet rays. I would suggest you to go for FDM or SLS printer as you get more practical and usable outputs. SLS printers are very expensive also the running cost is too high. If you are looking for big build capacity and economic printers go for FFF technology. Check out Big rep One V3 (Build volume-1000x1000x1000mm), gigabotXL (build volume- 590x760x600mm) or our 3D printer AION 500 (build volume-500x500x500mm).

I know its not as big as you want, but the Gmaz 1.5XT + is pretty cool. Im sure it can be modified.

I'm also looking for a large size 3d printer for mannequin sample printing. in my list, I have 3 styles: 1.BigRep ONE V3, 2.TITAN ROBOTICS The Atlas, 3.TRACTUS3D T3500. but these models are quite new and I didn't see many customer's review. it's hard to pick one. I hope to get more idea from your post and replies.

3D Platform have now made and delivered hundreds of their 1000 x 1000 x 500 to big clients such as Boeing and Caterpillar.
