Sunshine Sugar Apprentice 3D Prints ABS Claw for Production Line

Sunshine Sugar, a sugar production company in New South Wales, was losing thousands of dollars replacing a robotic steel claw heavily used on the production line, until an apprentice named Daniel Marks came along. Marks, an engineering student at North Coast TAFE, came up with a way to 3D print an ABS claw that functioned just as well and lasted as long as the steel one, but only cost $40, winning him not only the appreciation of his employer but the North Coast Apprentice of the Year and Student of the Year awards.
