Zimbabwean Man’s Face Reconstructed With 3D Printing Thanks to 3D Systems

Thanks to the joint efforts of 3D Systems, the non-profit organization Operation of Hope, and two compassionate and dedicated surgeons at San Diego’s Sharp Memorial Hospital, Zimbabwe native Blessing Makwera’s face, which was damaged extensively when a land mine exploded in it, has been reconstructed. The tragic accident happened with Makwera was only 9 years old. Now a college student, Makwera’s success story would not have been possible without the help of 3D technology and advanced 3D printing processes.
