Not really post worthy but!
My i3 has finally extruded correctly from both hot ends, the LCD panel is working (again, finally).
I need to correct my end stops and then I can FINALLY get a test print made... then the inevitable configs :(
Been stalled on this printer for awhile and my trust backup (i2) is now living in a new home going unused - what a shame!!

First print - I'm actually happy with it [yes, miserable failure]... Although I can't get any fans to work! No idea why... :S
One extruder is a mil or two lower than the other so it was dragging on the hotbed.

Yep - But I have now destroyed it and started again... :S
Stripped the entire unit and rebuilding on a redesigned frame (metal) and simplified the extruder - Single with herringbone.
Congrats! We love our aluminum framed i3s. We also have a Replicator XL with a dual extruder but after the first couple of weeks of novelty, have never done a double extruder print.
I had a similar thought process - Use the dual for everything... In the end I could find no use except for something like use a different colour for support prints.
Would have slowed the prints down. Now I have a spare J-Head! :)
My frame is slightly different - It composite alloy - Metal/Fiberglass/metal - Strong, but in a similar shape to the wooden frames - Super strong!
Didn't someone recently start selling (to hobbyists) a dissolving filament for making supports?Quote:

I've owned and used HIPS ABS plastic ever since I got my printer, its been out for more than a year and available to anyone. Just buy yourself some limonella and watch the magic.Quote:
