Revealed: 3D Printing Played Major Role in Guardians of the Galaxy

This year's summer blockbuster film, Guardians of the Galaxy apparently used 3D printing extensively for the creation of props and costume. A company called FBFX 3D printed a number of props and costume for the film. This included Korath's entire armor costume, as well as pieces of Star Lord's helmet. By using 3D printing FBFX was able to save a tremendous amount of time and money. Their preferred 3D printer was a Stratasys Objet 500 machine.
