The Future of Hybrid Manufacturing

While we love looking at additive manufacturing, it doesn't tell the whole story; the future of manufacturing lies in hybridization as additive and subtractive technologies come together. A recent product introduction from Sodick, as well as an EU-led collaborative research project serve as examples underscoring the importance of hybrid technology and its rise in industry. We've been seeing trends toward complementary technologies in manufacturing for some time now, such as industrial hybrid machines from Optomec and Mitsui Seiki USA, and desktop machines such as ZMorph's hybrid 3D pritner, as well as input from industry experts such as Terry Wohlers.
