2.5D Printing... Not Quite 3D

A recent Instructables project combines the oldest printmaking technique--block printing--with the newest--3D printing. The results are pretty impressive and the process is eliminates the necessity of doing the painstaking, manual work of carving a wood or lino block. Instead, it relies on digital process, vector and 3D design, to create the plates for printing using the conventional method of a press. In a pinch, you can even skip the printing press and go completely old school. The Instructable provides step-by-step instructions for converting a design into a 3D model and then inking and printing your freshly 3D-printed block on paper or fabric.
