3D Printed Geodesic Shades

An idea that arose from sheer necessity flourished into an artful expression of ingenuity, engineering savvy, creativity, and 3D printing technology when Michael Gates and Toby Vann of Archimedes Design built their first geodesic dome-based shade structures. The pair used 3D printing in its capacity to produce rapid prototypes when refining the hubs, which are the core components of their stable and visually stunning domes.
