Kanèsis is Patenting 3D Printing Material Made from Recycled Hemp

Hemp, despite controversy and worldwide bans, has seemed to be making a resurgence for years now. And just as 3D printing has hit the mainstream, so it may also as a helpful material in 3D printing, and other sectors too. The team at Kanèsis has developed a new 3D printing filament made from industrially recycled hemp that is toxin-free and environmentally friendly for printing—and while being quite aesthetically pleasing, it also offers benefits over materials like ABS and PLA in that it is stronger mechanically and lighter in weight by 30 percent.
