3D Printed Tricorder?

In the fantastic world of Star Trek, doctors are able to diagnose ailments in seconds using the high-tech tricorder. As with other technologies first introduced in science fiction, the tricorder may just be coming into the real world now, one step at a time. Led by Dr. Gene Fridman, a team of engineers from Johns Hopkins University have formed a company called Multisensor Diagnostics. The first 3D printed prototype product from the company, MouthLab, can obtain vital signs within seconds through a sensory thumb pad and mouthpiece; they see it as a "check-engine light for humans" that can be used by anyone to gather data within ten seconds.
