3MF Consortium to Raise Standard for 3D Printing Files

As the 3MF Consortium works tirelessly to innovate and meet their goal of producing a new specification for 3D printing file formats, GE Global Research has joined them with a founding membership. This is certainly a win for both sides as GE is a pioneer in 3D printing, and the consortium is working to make a new standard for file formats that will eliminate many of the issues we see with the .stl file.
