Bangalore's Health Care Global Uses 3D Printed Model in Tongue Cancer Surgery

Surgeons at Bangalore's Health Care Global successfully treated a man with severe cancer of the tongue by creating a 3D model from his MRI scans and using it to print a replica of the affected organ. Using Materialise Mimics, a team from medical 3D printing company Anatomiz3D digitally separated the images of the tumor and the tongue, then printed them separately in two different colors so that the surgeons could easily see what they needed to remove.
