America Makes Announces Program for Guiding Air Force to 3D Printing of Parts & More

America Makes announced a new Directed Project Opportunity to improve US Air Force sustainment operations. The goal of the program is to improve the efficiency of Air Force Air Logistics Complexes to rapidly replace parts for legacy and other military aircraft by developing, demonstrating and guiding the transition to the use of additive manufacturing and other types of related advanced manufacturing technology. The University of Dayton Research Institute will be the principal investigator on the project, while the Youngstown State University will be the co-leader of the technical efforts.
